                        New MCDHH Commissioner

The Missouri Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing is
pleased to announce that Governor Blunt has appointed
Ms. Emily Northcraft of Kansas City to the Commission.
Ms. Northcraft fills the currently vacant position that is defined
in statute as being for a deaf or hard of hearing person.
Ms. Northcraft has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic
Design from Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri.  She
worked for the past several years as a Graphic Designer for
Luminous Neon Art and Sign Systems and is currently
employed by H & H Color Labs as a Masterpiece Edition
Graphic Artist.  She is president of the Cochlear Implant
Club of the Midwest , a volunteer member of the Disaster
Action Team of the Greater Kansas City Area Chapter of the
American Red Cross, a volunteer with the DeLaSalle Education
Center (the only private secular alternative school system in
Kansas City), and an avid skydiver with the Missouri River
Valley Skydivers.  The staff of MCDHH welcomes Ms. Northcraft
and looks forward to working together to improve the lives and
opportunities of all Missourians with hearing loss.
