The
members and staff of the Missouri Commission for the Deaf
and Hard of Hearing expresses their condolences to the Graybill
family.
Georgetta Ann Graybill
Georgetta, 81, died on March 12, 2008 at Johnson County Nursing
Center. Mass of Christian Burial took place on Monday, March 17,
2008 at McGilley & Frye Chapel, 105 E. Loula St., Olathe,
Kansas. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, KS at
1:30 p.m.

She
was born in Alta Vista, KS on September, 1 1926 to George and
Gertrude Graybill. She graduated from the Kansas School for the
Deaf and attended Gallaudet University in Washington D.C. for
one year. She was preceded in death by both parents, a sister,
Alice Bee, and a brother, George Graybill. She is survived by
sisters Erlene Graybill of Olathe, KS, Linda (Ivan) Mundy of
Olathe, KS, Lucille (Terrence) Mulich of Chesapeake, VA and
brother Patrick Graybill of Rochester NY
She is also survived by eight nephews and nieces and three great
great nephews. She was a long time employee of Pioneer Cap Co.
She was active in several organizations serving deaf. Governor
Mel Carnahan appointed her as a commissioner for the Missouri
Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in September 1993.
She served until July of 2002.
She,
a Catholic, taught American Sign Language at Maple Woods
Community College, Kansas City, MO
