| It has
come to my attention that some people think that only six
(6) of the MCD staff positions have been recommended by the
House Budget Committee for funding next year. I need to
quickly correct this false impression, hopefully in order to
prevent someone from writing a legislator and saying the
wrong thing about the staffing situation. The House Budget
Committee agreed to restore the full staff to MCD. The House
Appropriations - Education Committee had previously voted to
cut the staff from seven (7) positions to one (1) position,
but they had left one position. Then this morning the House
Budget Committee voted to restore the 6 positions that had
been cut, thus restoring the staff to its current strength
of 7 positions.
