Posted March 4, 2002 (HB 1783 Update Report)
HB 1783 was introduced by Representatives Jenee Lowe and Danielle Moore on 2/4/02. HB 1783 has the singular purpose of changing the name of the Missouri Commission for the Deaf to the Missouri Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. It was referred to the House Education - Elementary and Secondary Committee, had a public hearing on 2/19/02, and was reported out of that committee "Do Pass" as a consent bill on 2/27/02. The bill is now on the House Consent Calendar and awaiting perfection. All advocates in support of this bill should contact their representatives and ask them to vote for HB 1783.
