Posted February 4, 2002 (SB 860)
The Senate Pensions and General Laws Committee heard testimony on Wednesday supporting SB 860 which would change the name of the Missouri Commission for the Deaf to the Missouri Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. They held an executive session yesterday and voted SB 860 out of their committee with a "Do Pass" recommendation and placed it on the "Consent" calendar (this means that no amendments could be added to the bill on the Senate floor). We want to express our appreciation to Senator Larry Rohrback for sponsoring this bill at the request of MCD. We would remind all deaf and hard of hearing advocates that if you support this bill, now is the time to contact your senator and ask them to vote for SB 860. If you fax, e-mail or mail your senator, MCD would greatly appreciate it if you would send a copy to our office for our information purposes.
