February 22, 2004 HB 1002 - Further Cuts in MCDHH E&E Funds
|
|
The House
Appropriations - Education Committee has included in the current
language of HB 1002 further cuts in the General Revenue Expense &
Equipment (GR E&E) funds of the Missouri Commission for the Deaf and
Hard of Hearing. The GR E&E funds pay for all of the programs,
services, and operational expenses of the Commission other than staff salaries and the costs
of certifying interpreters. HB 1002 would reduce the FY 2005 GR E&E
appropriation of MCDHH by 13 percent as compared to FY 2004. This
would mean that MCDHH will have taken a total cut in GR E&E
appropriations of 63 percent since FY 2002. Advocates who might wish
to oppose these proposed cuts can do so by immediately contacting
one or more of the members of the House Appropriations - Education
Committee. Contact information for all of the members of that
committee is appended, including information for the chair of the
committee, Representative Kathlyn Fares.
