SB 705 - Please Support Hearing Aid Insurance Bill

The Senate version of the bill that would require insurance companies and HMO's in Missouri to provide coverage for hearing aids for dependent children to age 19 seems stalled. That bill (SB 705) was prefiled by Senator Harold Caskey on 12/1/03, had its first reading on 1/7/04, and was referred to the Senate Small Business, Insurance, and Industrial Relations Committee on 1/8/04. It has been a month now, and there still isn't a public hearing scheduled for that bill. Those advocates who are interested in moving this bill should contact Senator John Loudon, who is the chair of the Senate Small Business, Insurance, and Industrial Relations Committee, and request that SB 705 be scheduled for a public hearing. Contact
information for Senator Loudon is as follows:

State Capitol Building, Room 332
