| The Senate
Appropriations Committee has changed its rules and will accept
public testimony regarding budget
requests this year. Testimony may be offered regarding the budget
of the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education on
Wednesday, January 19, at 8:00 am and again upon morning adjournment
(usually around noon) in Senate Committee Room 2. Anyone who
wishes to speak regarding the
budget requests of the Missouri Commission for the Deaf and Hard of
Hearing are welcome to attend those sessions.
This year MCDHH has requested
additional funds to (1) allow it to fill the
Information Specialist position
which has been vacant for two years, and (2) equip a Mobile
Technology Display Unit that will allow it to drive to any city in
the state and demonstrate state-of-the-art technology that can
be of benefit to deaf and hard of
hearing people.

Provide the testifier's name, organization,
if any, and the subject matter.
Testimony will be limited to three minutes
and a written copy of the
