Senate Appropriations Committee Accepting Public Testimony

The Senate Appropriations Committee has changed its rules and will accept public testimony regarding budget requests this year.  Testimony may be offered regarding the budget of the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education on Wednesday, January 19, at 8:00 am and again upon morning adjournment (usually around noon) in Senate Committee Room 2.  Anyone who wishes to speak regarding the budget requests of the Missouri Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing are welcome to attend those sessions.

This year MCDHH has requested additional funds to (1) allow it to fill the
Information Specialist position which has been vacant for two years, and (2) equip a Mobile Technology Display Unit that will allow it to drive to any city in the state and demonstrate state-of-the-art technology that can be of benefit to deaf and hard of hearing people.

Persons interested in testifying on issues relative to MCDHH's budget should
contact Senate Appropriations staff toll free at 866-274-8748 or e-mail at
public.testimony@senate.mo.gov.  Provide the testifier's name, organization,
if any, and the subject matter.  Testimony will be limited to three minutes
and a written copy of the testimony is required.

For more information about legislation/issues,
contact MCDHH@mcdhh.mo.gov
